Legacy Blast 2024
Lee’s Summit, MO — Lee’s Summit Parks and Recreation (LSPR) and the City of Lee’s Summit invite you to a free fireworks celebration on Wednesday, July 3, at Legacy Park! The gates open to the park at 6 p.m., and fireworks begin at 9:30 p.m.
A musically choreographed fireworks display will be simulcast on 94.9 KCMO. Prior to the fireworks, the baseball, soccer, softball, and football fields will have DJs, snacks, food truck vendors, face painting, balloon artists, and inflatables for children 12 and under.
Access to Legacy Park will be closed at 9:00 p.m. to allow all vehicles to park prior to the show or when the parking lots are full. Once the venue is full, no additional traffic will be allowed inside the park. You are advised to arrive early to allow ample time for parking. In case of rain, join us on Friday, July 5, 2024. Navigating to Legacy Blast
- Before the fireworks show, Blackwell will be closed at Colbern and at the roundabout to clear the roadway for the exit if necessary. Overflow traffic will be directed out of the area.
- The 2023 event was unprecedented in terms of traffic volume. Expect lengthy delays before and after the event in the areas of NE Colbern Road, NE Scruggs, NE Langsford, and NE Blackwell Parkway.
- Allow yourself plenty of time for your drive, and be patient and respectful!
Parking FAQ
- Parking illegally in and around Legacy Park neighborhoods and in non-designated parking areas at Legacy Park is not allowed.
- Parking on private property and sidewalks is not allowed. Violators could be ticketed and/or towed.
- Parking spaces cannot be reserved for others or used to set up a tailgate.
Other Friendly Reminders
- LSPR Parks and Venues are smoke-free.
- No grills, alcohol, or fireworks will be permitted in the venues.
- Bring blankets and chairs to get the best view of the show outside of your car.
