Bailey Farm Park Development Status: In Design | Estimated Construction: 6/1/2026 - 12/1/2026 | Updated: 09/01/2026 The 49.5 acre undeveloped site off of Ranson Road approximately 1 mile south of U.S. Highway 50 will be the new home of Bailey Farm Park. The property, generously donated by Sylvia Bailey in the early 1990's, will be developed to include a visitors center and events space, a show barn, greenhouse, walking trails, farm themed playscape, festival grounds, u-pick display areas, native and demonstration gardens, and interpretive areas.
Lee's Summit Indoor Sports Complex Status: In Construction | Estimated Construction: 9/1/2026 - 1/1/2028 | Updated: 09/01/2026 Lee's Summit Indoor Sports Complex This state of the art $29.5 million facility located at Missouri 291 Highway and US Highway 50 in the Oldham Village development will include 10 basketball courts, 14 volleyball courts, pickleball courts, meeting rooms, and Parks and Recreation administrative offices. The project is scheduled to break ground in early September 2026 and be completed in the Winter of 2027-2028
Mouse Creek Trail Status: In Construction | Estimated Construction: 7/1/2026 - 5/1/2027 | Updated: 09/01/2026 Mouse Creek Trail Approximately 1.2 miles of trail will be constructed along Mouse Creek in southern Lee's Summit. The project is partially funded through a grant from MDNR and the Recreation Trails Program. The project is scheduled for completion by Spring 2027 and will connect the new neighborhood park, Red Hawk Park to Pryor Road. The approximate cost of the project is $1.1 million.
Playground Surface Replacement Program Status: In Construction | Estimated Construction: 10/1/2023 - 4/1/2028 | Updated: 01/30/2026 Over the next five years, LSPR will be replacing existing playground mulch with synthetic turf to improve maintenance efficiency and improve accessibility and appearance in parks. The replacement program will begin in October 2023 and run through the Spring of 2028. Examples include similated kitchen emergencies, mock driving and bicycle safety, working traffic signals, severe weather events, cyber security, and utility safety and awareness among other skills. A 30 acre tract was donated to LSPR with the annexation of Unity Village properties in 2015.
