The state-of-the-art facility features craftsman-style elegance with cherry wood and stone accents. The natural light coming through the many windows is very inviting and on good weather days, step outside onto the back patio, walk through the landscaping or find respite under the gazebo. In addition, patrons can take part in bocce ball by checking out the equipment at the front desk. No reservations and no fees required!

Gamber Community Center opened its doors in June of 2008. The facility is designed to accommodate "Every Age, Every Season" and continues to expand its offerings.

The Gamber Center is an 18,000 sq ft multi-generational community center and consists of the following amenities: three classrooms (seating for 25), an aerobics studio, a fitness center, a billiards room (three tables), a bistro (complete with café style seating), and a ballroom that seats 200 people banquet style with a great hall that includes a baby grand piano and casual seating. The exterior includes a 1/3rd mile fitness/walking trail with fitness equipment, a gazebo, manicured lawn, outdoor seating, and extensive landscaping.

• In 2010 the Gamber Center received a bronze medal award for Traditional Architecture for Design Excellence from KC Home Design and Commercial Journal magazine.
• Recreation activities such as those provided at the LSPR Gamber Community Center and other LSPR facilities and parks provide important socialization opportunities and help keep individuals active in the community. Individuals who live alone are often cut off from the community mainstream, losing their purpose for being and retreating into their homes, thus increasing their health risks.

Enjoy cardio machines that include treadmills, recumbent bikes, ellipticals and nu-steppers. There are also seven selectorized strength machines. In addition, Gamber offers daily instructor-led fitness classes in the separate aerobics room and members receive a 20% discount on personal training fees.

Membership Cancellation

Those wishing to cancel their LSPR membership need to do so at a Lee’s Summit Parks and Recreation facility. For LSPR members who wish to cancel their membership but are unable to get to a facility, use the Gamber Community Center Membership online cancellation form.

Annual Membership Extensions or Holds

Annual members may place their membership on hold for documented medical reasons for a minimum of one month and a maximum of three months. Membership holds are available only for annual memberships and may be used once per current membership term. The Membership Hold Request Form will be available in both electronic and paper formats. Paper forms may be submitted at any LSPR community center or at the Parks and Recreation office in City Hall. A doctor’s note must be submitted along with the request form. This note should include the doctor’s office, the patron’s name, and the date(s) of the non-exercise period.

How to Get Started...

The enrollment form outlines basic information and guidelines.

ENROLLMENT FORM

All clients must complete a participation activity readiness questionnaire (PAR Q). If so indicates, a physician’s medical release may be required for clients whose health may be in question.

MEDICAL RELEASE

After these items are complete and payment has been made, a trainer will contact you within 48 hours to set up your first session, unless the PAR Q indicates the need for a physician’s medical release.

LCC 24-Hour Cancellation Policy. A 24-hour notice of cancellation or change in your personal training appointment is required at the LCC. If an appointment is canceled or changed within less than 24 hours of the scheduled appointment, a refund will NOT be processed. In the event of a cancellation by the trainer prior to the 24-hour notice, the appointment may be rescheduled or refunded. In the event of a cancellation by the trainer less than 24 hours of the scheduled appointment, you may reschedule your appointment and will receive an additional 15 minutes of service at no charge.

Five or fewer sessions must be used within a 60-day period. Clients purchasing a 10-session package must complete the sessions within a 90-day period.

• All applicable paperwork must be completed 45 days prior to your event.
• An additional $175 non-refundable service fee will be applied.
• All alcohol must be brought in, served and removed from the premises by one of our preferred vendors.
• Additional security must be provided by LSPD or Jackson Co Sheriffs Dept. Gamber Staff will arrange the security. (Your billable time includes 30 minutes before and after event).

Regarding Your Rental

• Saturday Ballroom rentals are limited to the Event Package unless event date is within 180 days at which time a Gamber Package may be booked. If the ballroom is not rented 90 days prior to the desired date, the 2 hour minimum rental rates and after hours charges (if indicated) will apply.”
• Rental for authorized use of facilities must be made by persons 18 or older.
• The $100 refundable deposit (MC/Visa/Discover only) AND the rental fee is required at the time of reservation.
• We also offer a podium with microphone, table linens, baby grand piano and audio-visual equipment for additional fees
• Spaces may be booked up to 18 months in advance

Gamber Community Center Rules and Etiquette

General Rules

• Demonstrate respect for yourself, other patrons, staff, and property while enjoying the facility.
• No abusive or profane language.
• No rough-housing or horseplay.The use of all tobacco products is prohibited in parks and facilities maintained, owned, and/or operated by Lee's Summit Parks and Recreation (E-cigarettes are not allowed in any LSPR facility).
• GCC is a community-oriented facility. Patrons are expected to dress in attire appropriate for a family-friendly fitness facility.
• Anyone under 21 must be accompanied at all times by a member 21 or older.
• Food is allowed in all areas of the Gamber Community Center excluding the Grand Tetons, Yosemite and Rushmore areas, or at the discretion of the instructor in other areas.
• Drinks are allowed in all areas of the Gamber Community Center.
• Only water in a sealable container is allowed in the Grand Tetons and Rushmore rooms.
• LSPR is committed to the health, safety and welfare of each of its members and staff and will not tolerate unreasonable, threatening, obscene, harassing, indecent or illegal behavior.
• No weapons of any kind are allowed within the facility.
• LSPR has the right to terminate the membership of any member engaging in unacceptable behavior.

Fitness Center Rules

• Children under 10 must be accompanied by a person 16 years of age or older while in the fitness center. The cardio and strength training area has been developed for ages 12 and up. Children 10 and 11 may use cardio equipment if accompanied by a person 16+. Those 12-17 can use all of the equipment without supervision after having an orientation by facility staff.
• Participants are expected to dress in appropriate workout clothing. Shirts must be worn at all times and cover the torso and chest. Closed toes shoes must be worn at all times. Clothing with metal rivets is not permitted.
• Lockers will be used for personal items that can not be hung on hooks.
• Lockers are located at the north end of the building near the restrooms.
• Lockers are for day use only. You must provide your own lock. All locks left overnight will be cut off the following day.
• Return weights to the proper location on the rack.
• Return all balls, bands, steps, and yoga mats to the proper location.
• Thirty-minute time limit on all cardiovascular equipment during peak hours.
• Please be courteous to other users, disinfectant and towels are available at designated locations.
• All professional services must be provided by authorized Gamber Community Center staff or contractors.
