Father / Daughter “Glistening Gala” Dinner & Dance
Registrations are going on now for Lee’s Summit Parks & Recreation’s annual Father/Daughter dinner and dance. This year’s theme is “Glistening Gala” and is a chance for little girls to wear their best sparkles and frosty accessories. Dads and daughters have four dates to choose to attend. They include Friday, January 30, Saturday, January 31, Friday, February 6 or Saturday, February 7. Each event will be held from 6-9pm at the Gamber Community Center.
“Glistening Gala” is for daughters ages 3-12 and fathers, stepfathers, and grandfathers of all ages! Enjoy dinner, music, dancing and games. Keepsakes include a rose, a goody bag and in addition, a professional photographer will be on site for "couple's photos" which will be available at the end of the night. “Party Pics” will be available to order after the event.

It is $25 per person, after that fees raise to $28 per person. Space is limited. Sorry, seat reservations are not available. The Gamber Community Center is located at 4 SE Independence Avenue in Lee’s Summit.
NIGHT FLIGHT 5K RUN. Friday, June 12, 2015.
The Annual 5K Run, Night Flight is set for Friday, June 12 at 9pm at Harris Park. The race route will begin and end at Harris Park and go through downtown Lee's Summit, the entire route is paved. Pre-registration ONLY! Fees are $25 for participants age 14+ and $20 for 13 and under when registered by May 28 (tshirt guarantee if registered by May 29). After that fees increase $5. Sorry, night of registrations will not be available. Lee's Summit Parks & Recreation is hosting a post-race swim at Summit Waves! Participants will have free entry to the "Dash & Dive Party" and family members are welcome for $4 each.
For 34 years Night Flight has been a part of Lee's Summit. Originally part of the Cole Younger Days celebration, the race was hosted by Lee’s Summit Medical Center for over 11 years. For the past eight years, Lee’s Summit Medical Center has partnered with Lee’s Summit Parks and Recreation to benefit the Legacy for Parks Foundation. This partnership maintains a long-standing and respected event while benefiting the entire community through the enhancement of our beautiful parks system.

TOUR DE LAKES BIKE RIDE. Saturday, June 27, 2015.
The 14th Annual Tour de Lakes Tom Logan Memorial bike ride will take place Saturday, June 27, 2015. It all starts at the Longview Recreation Center located at View High and Third Street, Lee’s Summit, MO near NE Longview. The ride starts at 7:00 A.M. rain or shine. The route will be marked and maps are available online and at registration. There is a 10 mile ride around Longview Lake, a 32* and 55* mile ride including Longview, Raintree and Lakewood Lakes, or a 63* mile ride touring those plus Blue Springs Lake and Lake Jacomo (* mileage and routes subject to change).
Tour de Lakes is a fully supported ride. The cost of the ride is $25 ($20 for riders under 13) if registered by June 26, and $30 ($25 for riders under 13) the day of the ride. Register by Sunday, June 14, 2015 to guarantee your Tour de Lakes commemorative T-Shirt and goodie bag. Each rider must be 18 years of age or accompanied by an adult. Everyone must wear an approved bicycle helmet during the ride and have a waiver form signed before the ride.
