Spring Spin Bike Ride
Saturday, April 26 at 8am

The ride will start and finish at Charles David Hartman Park located at 700 SW Old Pryor Road. The ride starts at 8:00 A.M. rain or shine. The route will be marked and maps will be available online and at packet pick-up which will take place on Friday, April 25 at Harris Park Community Center between 5:30 and 7pm. There is a 25 mile ride and 52 mile ride to choose from (distances subject to change).

Spring Spin is a fully supported ride. The cost of the ride is $25 ($20 for riders under 13) if registered by April 25, and $30 ($25 for riders under 13) the day of the ride. Register by April 11, 2014 to guarantee your Spring Spin T-Shirt and goody bag. Register online here.

Each rider must be 18 years of age or accompanied by an adult. Everyone must wear an approved bicycle helmet during the ride and have a waiver form signed before the ride.


 

LSPR’s 2014 Croquet Tournament
Saturday, May 17 at 9am

The Lee’s Summit Parks & Recreation Annual Croquet Tournament will be held on Saturday, May 17, beginning at 9:00am at Howard Park in Lee’s Summit. There will be Cut Throat and Singles Divisions playing two balls. Awards will be given to top finishers in each division. The registration fee of $15 is by April 19. After that, fees will increase to $17 must pre register by May 3rd. For more information call Lee’s Summit Parks & Recreation at 816.969.1500. To register online follow this link. Kid's Fishing Derby
Saturday, May 17. Check In at 9:30am, Derby begin at 10am

Get a line wet at Legacy Park Lake! This fishing derby provides children an introduction to sport fishing and the responsibility of caring for our natural resources. A MO fishing license is NOT required for kids but is for adults (16+). Bring your own rods and reels! Registration includes a container of worms. All participants will be fishing from the shore or dock! Preregistration is requested. Derby prizes will be awarded biggest and smallest fish at 11:15am. Must be present to win. Location: Legacy Park Lake, 901 NE Bluestem Drive in Lee's Summit. Pre-registration recommended (register online here). $2 per child through May 2. Increases to $3 after 5/2.


 

FREE Movie in the Park "Yogi Bear"
Friday, May 30. Amphitheater opens at 7:30pm, movie begins at 8:30pm.

The first Movie in the Parks will be "Yogi Bear" at Legacy Park Amphitheater on Friday, May 30. This is a FREE event for all ages. Gates open at 7:30pm and the move will begin at 8:30pm. Concessions will be for sale and guests should bring their own blankets or chairs. Legacy Park Amphitheater is located directly south of Legacy Park Community Center at 901 NE Bluestem Drive in Lee’s Summit.  Night Flight 5K
Friday, June 13, 2014

The Annual 5K Run, Night Flight is set for Friday, June 13 at 9pm at Harris Park. For 33 years Night Flight has been a part of Lee's Summit. Originally part of the Cole Younger Days celebration, the race was hosted by Lee’s Summit Medical Center for over 11 years. For the past seven years, Lee’s Summit Medical Center has partnered with Lee’s Summit Parks and Recreation to benefit the Legacy for Parks Foundation. This partnership maintains a long-standing and respected event while benefiting the entire community through the enhancement of our beautiful parks system.

Lee's Summit Parks & Recreation is hosting a post-race swim at Summit Waves! Participants will have free entry to the "Dash & Dive Party" and family members are welcome for $4 each.

The race route will begin and end at Harris Park and go through downtown Lee's Summit, the entire route is paved. Pre-registration ONLY! Fees are $25 for participants age 14+ and $20 for 13 and under when registered by May 30. After that fees increase $5. Sorry, night of registrations will not be available.

Tour de Lakes Memorial Bike Ride
Saturday, June 28, 2014

Tour de Lakes 13th annual Tom Logan Memorial bike ride will take place Saturday, June 28, 2014. It all starts at the Longview Recreation Center located at View High and Third Street, Lee’s Summit, MO near NE Longview. The ride starts at 7:00 A.M. rain or shine. The route will be marked and maps are available online and at registration. There is a 10 mile ride around Longview Lake, a 32* and 55* mile ride including Longview, Raintree and Lakewood Lakes, or a 63* mile ride touring those plus Blue Springs Lake and Lake Jacomo (* mileage and routes subject to change).

Tour de Lakes is a fully supported ride. The cost of the ride is $25 ($20 for riders under 13) if registered by June 27, and $30 ($25 for riders under 13) the day of the ride.

Proceeds from Tour de Lakes will benefit the Legacy for Parks Foundation.
