Fly Friendly

As we continue to grow and attract more aircraft, we must be mindful of our noise impact. This program is vital for minimizing aircraft noise and maintaining strong relationships with neighbors. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in making these minor adjustments to flight procedures.

By working together, we can significantly reduce noise and ensure the airport remains a positive asset to the community.

Important Things to Remember

What can you do?

  • While a touch-and-go is essential to flight training and keeping current, consider diversifying the practice by utilizing other airports in the area.

  • No touch-and-goes between 10 p.m. and 7 a.m.

  • Repeated takeoffs and landings between 10 p.m. and 7 a.m. need to be brought to a full stop and taxied back.

  • No Mid-field/intersection departures at any time.

Keep crosswind turns within one nautical mile of the airport.

  • When conducting touch-and-goes, expedite the climb-out up to the TPA of 2,000 feet MSL.

  • When using Runway 36, turn crosswind at 1,500 feet MSL or prior to Woods Chapel Road, whichever comes first.

  • When using Runway 18, turn crosswind at 1,500 feet MSL or at the hospital, whichever comes first.

  • When using Runway 11/29, consider reducing traffic patterns close to the airport or avoid flying over residential areas south of the airport.

Consider using a reduced power setting if flying over residential areas due to the following:

  • Traffic

  • Low cloud cover

  • ATC instructions

  • Landing approach

Flying with the lowest practical RPM setting will reduce aircraft noise substantially:

  • Fly a tight pattern to try to keep noise as close to the airport as possible. Practice descents to the runway at low power settings and with as few power changes as possible.

  • At a minimum, follow the 3.0 degree PAPI glide slope when landing.
