Water line improvements ensure reliable services for future growth, existing customers

Lee's Summit Water Utilities is making improvements to the water distribution system to meet the projected demands of future growth and to increase the level of service for the existing customers located in the southeast portion of the Utility's service area. The City's contractor, Miles Excavating, will break ground this week on a water line improvement project that will upgrade water lines along U.S. 50 Highway from Blackwell Road to Harris Road.

Lee’s Summit Water Utilities is repairing sewer mains throughout the City before they fail. The repair is being completed using a process called Cured-In-Place-Pipe (CIPP), a process used to repair about 50 percent of all water pipes in the United States and also used extensively to repair sanitary sewer and storm water pipes.
