City Crews Continue Plowing and Treating Residential Streets Today, Thursday, Feb. 18

The City’s crews continue to plow and treat residential streets today, Thursday, Feb. 18. Progress was slowed overnight due to a variety of factors, including cold temperatures and obstructions. While warmer temperatures and sunshine throughout the day Thursday should speed progress, cold temperatures are forecast again overnight into Friday, Feb. 19. The cold temperatures impact the amount of snow which can be plowed from streets; results are much improved in warmer temperatures. Crews will not be complete by 6:30 p.m. Thursday - crews are planning to plow and treat residential streets through daylight hours on Thursday, and will complete plowing and treating residential streets during daylight hours on Friday.

In addition, residents can help the snow control process by removing obstructions such as cars and trash cans from streets when possible. Cars and trash cans, especially in cul-de-sacs, are slowing progress and make it challenging to find areas to place snow. Crews appreciate residents’ help and patience throughout the snow control process.
