City Crews Set to Continue Plowing & Treating Residential Streets Today, Tuesday, Feb. 16

After more snow on Monday, Feb. 15, the City’s crews plowed and treated primary streets overnight, and will continue plowing and treating residential streets today, Tuesday, Feb. 16. Extremely low temperatures will continue to limit the effectiveness of deicing materials; however, crews are now mixing brine and calcium chloride in with salt treatments which can help with melting at lower temperatures. Another round of snow is expected late Tuesday and overnight into Wednesday, Feb. 17, and crews will shift their focus to primary streets while the snow is falling. With cold temperatures and more snow in the forecast, streets will likely remain snow packed and slick throughout the week. Residents should use caution while driving. The City will continue to monitor the weather forecast and update its response accordingly
