Lee's Summit Public Works

From pothole patching in spring, to snow plowing in winter, Public Works provides many of the City's essential programs and services. If you've driven on a City street, used a bike lane, taken trash to the landfill, or watched a plane fly overhead, then you've encountered Public Works.

The Lee's Summit Public Works Department is responsible for:

  • planning, design, and construction of the City's infrastructure
  • operation and maintenance of the City's stormwater systems, streets, and traffic control network
  • oversight, compliance, and post-closure of the City's landfill
  • operation of the Lee's Summit Municipal Airport

  • Night Work Possible on Ward Road Project

    Night Work Possible on Ward Road Project

    As part of the Ward Road Improvement project, night work is possible from Monday, April 15, through Tuesday, April 23. The contractor expects to begin pouring concrete pavement during this timeframe, and will need to make saw cuts 8 hours after the concrete is poured.
