Lee's Summit Public Works

From pothole patching in spring, to snow plowing in winter, Public Works provides many of the City's essential programs and services. If you've driven on a City street, used a bike lane, taken trash to the landfill, or watched a plane fly overhead, then you've encountered Public Works.

The Lee's Summit Public Works Department is responsible for:

  • planning, design, and construction of the City's infrastructure
  • operation and maintenance of the City's stormwater systems, streets, and traffic control network
  • oversight, compliance, and post-closure of the City's landfill
  • operation of the Lee's Summit Municipal Airport

    Northwest Ward Road from Chipman Road to Northwest Frances Road is scheduled to close on June 17 and remain closed for seven to ten days as work is done on the City’s water main.  The eastbound lane of Chipman Road will also be reduced to one lane from Ward Road to Donovan Road.
