NE Douglas Street Near Lee’s Summit Municipal Airport Set to Close on Monday, May 13

NE Douglas Street Near Lee’s Summit Municipal Airport Set to Close on Monday, May 13

A section of NE Douglas Street near the Lee’s Summit Municipal Airport is set to close on Monday, May 13, and will remain closed for 3-5 days. Traffic for the Airport will be detoured through the parking lot of Hangar 1 at 2525 NE Douglas St., and then across the approach end of Runway 11. If air traffic is in the pattern, an escort will be required.

The construction is necessary to allow the installation of new stormwater pipe under the roadway as part of a streambank stabilization project. While this closure is only expected to last a few days, the entire project will take approximately 30 days.
