A section of NE Douglas Street near the Lee’s Summit Municipal Airport is set to close on Monday, May 13, and will remain closed for 3-5 days. Traffic for the Airport will be detoured through the parking lot of Hangar 1 at 2525 NE Douglas St., and then across the approach end of Runway 11. If air traffic is in the pattern, an escort will be required.

The intersection of NW Commerce Drive and NW Main Street is closed and local access only is allowed on both NW Commerce Drive and NW Main Street until early Aug. 2019. Detour routes include NW Ward Road, NE Tudor Road, NE Douglas Street and NW Chipman Road.

 

The City of Lee’s Summit has entered into an agreement with KC Dumpster Company to provide a variety of disposal services at the Resource Recovery Park, located at 2101 SE Hamblen Rd. Available disposal services include household trash, household hazardous waste, recycling, and yard and brush disposal. Northbound NW Ward Road at NW Chipman Road and southbound NW Ward Road at NW Chipman Road will close this evening, April 23, due to extensive damage and loss of power to the signaled intersection at NW Chipman and NW Ward roads.

Update: Murray is now open. A section of SW Murray Road from SW 3rd Street to SW Highway Lane is closed for utility relocation work. This section of SW Murray Road will reopen the evening of Friday, April 19, and will remain open through the weekend.
