City’s Crews Plowing and Treating Streets Today, Fri., Jan. 24, and Overnight into Sat., Jan. 25

City crews are plowing and treating streets today, Fri., Jan. 24, and will continue tonight and overnight into, Sat., Jan. 25, after Lee’s Summit received several inches of snow. After accumulating snow ends, it can take up to 32.5 hours for crews to plow and treat the more than 1,000 lane miles in the City. Warming temperatures Friday afternoon are expected to help snow melt on streets; however, temperatures will dip below freezing late Friday and overnight into Saturday and wet pavements may refreeze. Warmer temperatures Saturday afternoon will help with additional melting.

The City will continue to monitor the weather and will update its response accordingly.
