Return Friday, May 1, 2020 | Views: 4397 Lee’s Summit Cancels Legacy Blast for 2020 The City of Lee's Summit has made the difficult decision to cancel Legacy Blast fireworks display scheduled for July 2 at Legacy Park after careful consideration and consultation with elected officials. The decision was based on information currently available related to COVID-19 to protect the health and safety of citizens, volunteers and vendors for an event which regularly hosts more than 20,000 participants. "We know the cancelation of this cherished community tradition is a disappointment. However, our primary concern and priority is the health and safety of our residents and we believe this decision, which was not made lightly, is in our community's best interest in this unique and unprecedented time," said Lee's Summit Parks and Recreation Administrator Joe Snook. "We look forward to the future when we are once again able to come together and celebrate as a community."
