Chip Moxley Selected for Civic Leadership Award

Chip Moxley will be honored with the Missouri Municipal League West Gate Division Civic Leadership Award on July 25 at 6 p.m. at the Longview Mansion, 1200 SW Longview Park Dr. This award recognizes the exceptional contributions of business and civic leaders in developing stronger cities. Moxley was selected for the award by Lee’s Summit Mayor Bill Baird.

“Chip is an incredible ambassador for Lee’s Summit and his continued commitment to improving our City deserves to be recognized,” said Mayor Baird. “He is an example of the tremendous impact citizens can have by volunteering their time and energy to causes that make our City an amazing place to live.”

Moxley has been instrumental in driving change in the community, serving on various boards and promoting initiatives that enhance the quality of life of Lee’s Summit citizens.

Moxley serves on the Lee’s Summit Economic Development Council Executive Board; Saint Luke’s Foundation Board of Trustees; R-7 Business Roundtable; UMB Bank Kansas City Region Advisory Board; and is vice chair of the Velocity Board of Directors. He is the past president of the Lee’s Summit Educational Foundation and currently serves on its Advisory Board. He has also served on the executive boards of John Knox Village and Saint Luke’s East Hospital.

As co-chair of the Gateway Business Alliance, Moxley played a pivotal role in advocating for public funding of the $16 million U.S. Highway 50/Route 291 Highway Interchange. This transportation infrastructure project will be a driving force for increased economic growth and expansion south of U.S. 50.
