Lee’s Summit Airport Hosts Free Open House on June 22

The City of Lee’s Summit is inviting the community to its Airport Open House on June 22 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Lee’s Summit Municipal Airport, 402 NE Leinweber Rd.

This free family-friendly event allows the public to experience everything the airport has to offer and enjoy an up-close look at the various airplanes on display. There will be activities for kids, food vendors, informational booths and a flight demonstration by the KC Flight Formation Team.

“This is the fifth year we’ve done an Open House and it grows every year,” said Airport Manager John Ohrazda. “This event is a great opportunity to open the airport up to the public and allow them to learn more about what an incredible asset it is for our community.”

Parking is available on the east side of the airport near the intersection of Northeast Leinweber Road and Northeast Hagen Road.

For more information about the airport, visit LSairport.net or call 969-1800.
