City Launches Online Tools to Streamline Development Services

Development Services is now offering the option to complete certain business processes online, providing added customer convenience. Electronic plan review, roof permitting, fee payments and business licensing are available using the City Portal on the City’s website, CityofLS.net/development. Other permit applications can be submitted online via email to DevTech@cityofLS.net.

“We want to provide customers with a seamless experience, whether they’re coming into City Hall or utilizing the City Portal,” said Ryan Elam, director of development services. “It’s vital to continually assess how our systems can be improved. This allows us to offer the best experience possible and keep pace with changing trends.”

The requirements for permits, applications and business licenses remain the same but, with these tools, customers have an alternative to visiting City Hall in person to conduct business. All permit and application types are being completed online or by phone. The Development Services City Portal can also be used to request an inspection, check the status of permit issuances or pay fees.

For a full list of documentation required to apply for a permit or business license along with a list of fees, visit CityofLS.net/development. For questions about the Development Services City Portal, or for assistance filing an application remotely, call 969-1200 or email DevTech@cityofLS.net.
