Water Utilities Launches Convenient Online Payment System

The City of Lee’s Summit’s Water Utilities is introducing a new secure and convenient online payment system, UtilityPay Customer Portal, beginning May 19, which can be accessed at cityofLS.com/water. Customers will be able to schedule automatic payments through a checking account or credit card; securely save payment information; and utilize a “Pay Now” feature, which allows for quick payments without having to register an account.

The upgraded system provides greater flexibility for customers to make payments and access information. Through the new UtilityPay Customer Portal, customers will have the ability to pay multiple accounts at once, view payment history and consumption information and access past billing statements. The payment portal features a responsive design for a seamless experience whether using a computer, tablet or smartphone.

“More than 40 percent of monthly payments to Water Utilities are done online or by phone, which is why it’s important for us to ensure we’re providing the best user experience possible,” said Brent Boice, assistant director of business services. “Through this new system, customers will be able to pay their bills and find information faster and easier.”

In addition to the new online payment portal, Water Utilities is implementing a new automated phone payment system, which customers can use to quickly review their account balance and make payments using a credit card, debit card or electronic check.

Visa, Mastercard, Discover and electronic checks are accepted.  The City’s third-party vendor, Paymentus, charges customers a $2.95 service fee on credit and debit card payments to cover the costs of its service. For more information about the new Water Utilities payment system, email waterutilities@cityofLS.net or call 969-1900.
