Section of Ward Road to Close June 17 for Water Main Work

Northwest Ward Road from Chipman Road to Northwest Frances Road is scheduled to close on June 17 and remain closed for seven to ten days as work is done on the City’s water main.  The eastbound lane of Chipman Road will also be reduced to one lane from Ward Road to Donovan Road. The eastbound lane of Southwest Hook Road from Southwest Arthur Drive to Southwest Ward Road is set to close on June 3 and remain closed for approximately eight weeks as part of an improvement project. Crews will be constructing six-foot-wide paved shoulders along each side of Southwest Hook Road. Lee’s Summit Parks & Recreation was Awarded a TRIM Grant

Lee’s Summit Parks and Recreation, in partnership with the Beautification Commission, was awarded a TRIM Grant through the Missouri Department of Conservation on September 7, 2018 and the work needed to receive the grant was completed in April of 2019. Due to the risk of severe weather, the City of Lee’s Summit has cancelled its Big Truck and Equipment Show, which was scheduled for May 18, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at City Hall, 220 SE Green St. Safety is the City’s top priority. With lightning and strong winds in the forecast, the City does not want to risk putting guests and employees in potentially unsafe conditions.
