Planning continues to advance on Lee’s Summit’s new multi-court sports fieldhouse, a major addition to the community’s recreational infrastructure. The project is nearing its final design phase, with construction bidding expected to open in March or April. If bidding and contracting proceed as planned, construction would begin in late summer or early fall of this year, with an anticipated opening in late summer or early fall 2027. The proposed 98,000-plus-square-foot facility is designed to significantly expand court capacity for youth and adult athletics. Lee’s Summit Parks and Recreation is undertaking a major restoration effort at Legacy Lake to protect one of the community’s most important environmental and recreational assets. The Legacy Lake Dredging Project began in November 2025 and is scheduled for completion in May 2026.

 

Lee’s Summit Parks and Recreation is excited to announce the official dates and details for next year’s beloved Father-Daughter Dances. A long-standing community tradition, the event provides a magical evening for fathers and daughters to celebrate their bond through music, dining, and unforgettable moments.

This year’s theme, “Wicked,” will transform the venue into an enchanting, Oz-inspired atmosphere, complete with themed décor, photo opportunities, and special touches that bring the story’s magic to life.

 

You are invited to our Holiday Luncheon at Gamber Community Center! Come enjoy a catered Holiday meal with dessert on Thursday, December 18. Doors open at 11:45 am, and lunch is served at 12:00 pm.
