City of Lee’s Summit Limits Access to City Facilities

City of Lee’s Summit facilities will be closed to the public, with the exception of City Hall, which has limited public access. During this time, the City encourages the use of resources available online or by phone. These measures are being taken to protect the health of employees and the community by preventing the spread of COVID-19.

City Hall – Public access to City Hall is through the north entrance by the parking garage. In-person business is limited to activities that cannot be completed online or by phone. During this time, the City will not be accepting in-person Jackson County property tax payments.

Permits/Licenses – Customers can utilize the City’s website to obtain certain permits and business license applications. Liquor license applications, payments and pick up are available in person at City Hall.

Water Utilities – Water Utilities will continue to provide essential services, including water service and emergency repairs. Water bill payments can be made online or by placing payments in the drop box located at the front entrance of Water Utilities, 1200 SE Hamblin Rd. Payments can also be placed in the drop box located outside the north entrance of City Hall. Customers may pay in person at City Hall if unable to use any of the other options.

The City is ensuring customers have uninterrupted access to water services and is suspending water disconnects for non-payment until further notice.

Police Headquarters/Municipal Court – Entry into the lobby of the Police / Municipal Court facility will be restricted and transactions will conducted online or by phone. Fingerprinting services, the issuance of new solicitor/peddler and special event permits, and existing solicitor/peddler and special event permits are suspended. To obtain a police report or pay court fines, visit the City’s website. Members of the public should call 9-1-1 in the event of an emergency and in a non-emergency call (816) 969-7390.

Animal Control – Animal Control is restricting visitors. All pet adoptions and lost pet services are by appointment only. Please call (816) 969-1640.

Fire Department – The Fire Department will not be conducting station tours or accepting visitors.

Parks and Recreation – All community centers are closed to the public.
