This year’s severe weather season is expected to be an active one. To learn more about severe weather awareness, attend the Jackson County Emergency Preparedness/National Weather Service Severe Weather Symposium on Saturday, March 16, at Crown Pointe Church, 5959 NE Lakewood Way. The doors open at 8:30, browse displays and register until the presentation begins at 9:30 a.m. This is a great to opportunity to learn how to identify and describe severe local storms to the NWS. Residential storm spotters are a part of the ranks of citizens who form the first line of defense against severe weather. There will be several interesting and well known speakers to talk about what you can do to be better informed and prepared.
