October 19, 2019 Training Canceled
Stop the Bleed is a national campaign to encourage bystanders to become trained, equipped and empowered to help in bleeding emergencies before professional help arrives.
Approximately 40 percent of trauma-related deaths worldwide are due to bleeding or its consequences. The course will include a short lecture followed by hands-on mannequin/limb training in bleeding control techniques, including the use of tourniquets. Those completing the course will receive a certification.
This event is sponsored by the Lee's Summit Health Education Advisory Board, Lee's Summit Fire Department, HCA Midwest Health, Lee's Summit Police Department, Mid-America Regional Council, Medical Reserve Corps of Kansas City and the Kansas City Medical Society.
