OUR MISSION

Lee's Summit Water Utilities is dedicated to providing reliable water and sanitary sewer services responsibly and efficiently for the health and safety of our community with exceptional customer service, integrity and pride.

Community Sewer Rehabilitation

Did you know there are nearly 500 miles of public sewer mains underneath the City of Lee’s Summit? In addition to inspecting and cleaning these lines every day, Lee’s Summit Water Utilities is currently rehabilitating several miles of sewer lines in most need of repair through a process which essentially installs a pipe within a pipe and is specifically designed for minimal impact and disruption to neighborhoods and customers.

The sewer rehabilitation project reduces blockages caused by roots and debris and the infiltration of groundwater in the public main, which reduces surcharges, overflows and backups.

For more information about this process, call 816-969-1900

Backflow Prevention Matters

Water normally flows straight to your faucet, but pressure changes in a home, business or the public water supply can cause the water to flow backwards. This reversal of flow is known as backflow and it can sometimes introduce contaminants into the water. Here’s what you can do to help protect our water supply.

Know where your master shut-off valve is located

No water? Your pipes may be frozen

If you are experiencing a loss of water or water pressure, please call Lee's Summit Water Utilities to investigate the cause. In most cases, the pipes inside the home are frozen. In that case, we recommend you stay home, turn up the heat, open the cabinet doors to allow warm air circulation and crack open the faucets.
