Street Light Maintenance

The City of Lee’s Summit leases most street lights within the City from KCPL. The only street lights owned and maintained by the City of Lee’s Summit are along arterial roads.

Currently, the following arterial roads have city owned and maintained street lights with more city arterial lighting planned:

Pryor Road                   Chipman Road                           Scruggs Road

Langsford Road          Blackwell Road/Parkway         Todd George Parkway

Longview Road           Ward Road                                  Colbern Road

The street lights in Downtown are also City owned and maintained.

The street lights along I-470, US-50, M-291 and M-150 are all owned and maintained by MoDOT. All other lights are owned and maintained by KCPL.

• To request street light maintenance for a MoDOT street light, call MoDOT District 4 at 816-622-6500.

When requesting maintenance please identify the address (or nearest street intersection) and if available the identification number to expedite the response. The identification number can be found on the pole, i.e. L1234 for a KCPL pole or 1G07-2-10 for a city pole.
