Report a Pothole

To report a pothole in a City street, notify the Public Works Department by calling (816) 969-1800 or include the street name and direction of travel in our contact us form. The pothole will be repaired within one working day (24 hours), weather permitting

City Traffic Engineer Receives Award from the Institute of Transportation Engineers

City Traffic Engineer Michael Park received the Traffic Engineering Council Best Paper Award at the Institute of Transportation Engineers 2014 Annual Meeting and Exhibit, held August 10–13, in Seattle, WA. Mr. Park received the award in recognition of his paper titled, "A Neighborhood Traffic Safety Program in Lee’s Summit, Missouri.”

Pryor Road Shoulders Project: Phase Two Underway

Phase Two construction of the Pryor Road Shoulders project began Friday, August 15. The southbound lane of Pryor Road will now be closed from Longview to Hook roads. Drivers are encouraged to use Ward Road as the detour route. The northbound lane of Pryor Road will now be open to one-way traffic from Hook to Longview roads. Construction is expected to be complete in October.

Maintaining the City's Pavement

The City’s annual overlay program concludes this week with the milling and pavement overlay of Second Street from SW Jefferson Street to M-291 Highway. Annual maintenance programs including overlay, surface sealing, curb replacement, and crack sealing are part of the City’s Pavement Management Program, which is used to maintain or restore paved road surfaces.

Pryor Road Shoulders Project Underway

Construction began on July 7, for Phase One of the Pryor Road Shoulders project, which includes shoulder improvements from Hook to Longview Roads in Lee’s Summit.
