Across our community residents are reporting downed tree limbs and brush after the storm that swept through the metropolitan area overnight on Mon., March 6.

The City does not pick up tree limbs or brush unless it rises to the level of a community-wide disaster, such as with the 1984 and 2002 ice storms. While this storm did not reach that level for Lee’s Summit, residents are reminded of private resources for disposing of tree limbs and brush:

OATS Transit Services in Lee’s Summit Set to Expand in April

At its meeting on Jan. 5, the Lee’s Summit City Council approved a plan to expand OATS transit services within Lee’s Summit, Mo, with an anticipated start date of April 1, 2017. The plan discontinues the Kansas City Area Transportation Authority (KCATA) MetroFlex Route 252, but reduces fares, increases hours of operations, and expands the service area for the OATS service. KCATA Express Route #152 to downtown Kansas City is not impacted by this change.
