Message from the Police Chief

I am honored to have been chosen to serve as the Chief of Police for the City in which I serve and reside. I assure the citizens and those who work in and visit Lee's Summit, Mo., that I will continue my years with the police department with as much dedication and fervor as when I began my career here in 1983. All personnel of the LSPD remain devoted to a safe and secure community.

With better police-citizen communication, officers can more effectively use and share crime information with the public. To that end, the Lee's Summit Police Department is committed to community-oriented policing. Officers who know both a community's problems and its residents can link people with other public and private agencies that can help solve community concerns. Please contact the LSPD about starting or revitalizing your area's Neighborhood Watch program, speaking to your Home Owners Association, community group, or attending the Citizen's Police Academy.

I expect those who serve our community -- protecting your family and mine -- to be courteous, professional and prompt in all their actions, and to understand they represent the Lee's Summit Police Department with the utmost dignity and respect. And, it is with great pride that the Lee's Summit Police Department received the award of Advanced Accreditation through the Commission on Accreditation of Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA) in July of 2011. The process required the development and implementation of standards which meet nationally recognized professional criteria for law enforcement agencies.

Through the professional commitment and creative involvement of every member of the police department, associated public and private agencies and members of the community, we will achieve our mission.
