On Extreme Heat Advisory Warning Days, all entry lobbies of the Legacy Park Community Center, Gamber Community Center and Harris Park Community Center are available to patrons at no charge for the purpose of “cooling” during all open hours.  Admission fee into these community centers will be reduced to half price on all days the National Weather Service issues Extreme Heat Advisory Warnings for the months of June, July and August.

In addition, the two Mid-Continent Public Libraries in Lee's Summit are considered cooling centers during regular business hours.  For a list of cooling centers in the Kansas City metro area, call the United Way at 211.
