Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training promotes a partnering effort between emergency services and the people they serve. The goal is for emergency personnel to train members of neighborhoods, community organizations, or workplaces in basic response skills. CERT members are then integrated into the emergency response capability for their area. CERT members can also volunteer for projects that improve community emergency preparedness.

Topics of the class include:

  • Disaster Preparedness
  • Disaster Medical Operations
  • Disaster Psychology
  • Disaster Fire Suppression
  • Light Search and Rescue
  • Terrorism Overview
  • CERT Team Organization
  • Disaster Support Operations.

Safety equipment and gear is provided for each student, so class size is limited. Acceptance will be on a first come, first serve basis.
