Text to 9-1-1 service is now available in the nine-county Kansas City metro area.

All 44 public safety answering points in the nine counties served by the Mid-America Regional Council can now accept texts. This includes Cass, Clay, Jackson, Platte and Ray counties in Missouri and Johnson, Leavenworth, Miami and Wyandotte counties in Kansas.

City Committee to Discuss Possible Funding Sources for Additional Ambulance Resources

During their Jan. 4 meeting, the City’s Finance & Budget Committee approved future discussion of potential funding sources and costs associated with additional ambulance resources for the community. Lee’s Summit’s City Manager Steve Arbo and Fire Chief Rick Poeschl requested the discussion be placed on the agenda of the committee’s next meeting, which is scheduled for Feb. 1, 2016.


Community Risk Standards of Cover

The Community Risk Standards of Cover is a document which thoroughly identifies the hazards and risks with the community.  It documents the fire departments current capabilities and limitations against internationally recognized consensus standards.



Garage Fire Damages Lee's Summit Home
