Illegal Storm Drain Dumping

It is against City ordinance to sweep or discard any materials, litter, or trash into the City's storm drainage system.  Such materials may not only block the system causing localized flooding, but also cause or contribute to water pollution.  Such items include, but are not limited to:

  • leaves
  • yard waste
  • limbs
  • branches
  • trash
  • concrete
  • paint
  • oil
  • grease
  • fireworks
  • waste water

To report illegal dumping in a City storm drain (also known as an illicit discharge), notify the Public Works Department by calling (816) 969-1800 or include the street name and nearest intersecting street in our contact us form.

For more information, contact the City's Environmental Specialist or call the Public Works Department at 969-1800.
