Historic Preservation Commission
The Historic Preservation Commission is composed of citizen members appointed by the City Council. Their mission is to proactively identify, evaluate, and protect historic properties and cultural resources within the boundaries of Lee’s Summit and encourage planning, public education, and economic vitality as they relate to Historic Preservation. See Historic Preservation Commission for more information. The Commission maintains a separate website - Historic Preservation Commission Website.
The Historic Preservation Plan and the Downtown Master Plan are part of the City's Comprehensive Plan. These plans were reviewed and adopted by the City's Planning Commission following a public hearing process, and are updated periodically.
