The City of Lee’s Summit is pleased to announce its recent hire of Cheryl Nash, who joined the City as creative services manager on November 6. In this position, Nash will lead the Creative Services team and be responsible for the overall management, direction and coordination of the Creative Services Center which includes public relations, communications, branding, marketing and media services.

Nash brings a wealth of experience and expertise in developing and executing strategic communications plans for brand awareness, advocacy, public engagement and events. Most recently, Nash worked as director of communications and development for ReDiscover where she was responsible for planning, development and implementation of all internal and external marketing strategies, communications and public relations activities.

“I’m honored to be joining the strong, dedicated and accomplished Creative Services team as the creative services manager,” said Nash. “The importance the City has placed on communications and citizen engagement by creating the Creative Services Center to serve as a resource and hub for city communications is impressive. As a long-time resident of Lee’s Summit I’ve been able to see first-hand the important work being done by the City on behalf of our community and as part of this team, I will have the opportunity to communicate that work to our citizenry.”

“Cheryl will oversee a centralized core communications team allowing for greater efficiencies in disseminating information from the City,” said Mark Dunning, assistant city manager. “We view this position as a sign of our commitment to continue to provide relevant, meaningful and comprehensive communications to our citizens and various stakeholders. Cheryl and her team will coordinate the information of the various city departments into a multi-departmental communications plan that will be used to produce and implement city communications, branding, marketing, media and public engagement programs for the City. We’re happy to have Cheryl on board.”
