The Lee’s Summit Chamber of Commerce and City of Lee’s Summit have partnered to host two workshops on March 30 giving businesses insight into the City’s procurement process. Workshops are from 10 a.m.-noon and 1:30-3:30 p.m. at City Hall (ITS Training Room 2-150), 220 SE Green St.

Purchasing Department personnel and City staff will be on hand to provide information, tips and tools to assist businesses interested in conducting business with the city of Lee’s Summit. Presentations will include essential information for businesses on participating in the city bidding process.

“This is a great opportunity to learn about the legal requirements, qualifications and processes necessary to bid on city issued requests for proposals and bid opportunities,” said Tim Arbeiter, chamber president. “Providing this type of information encourages participation from our local businesses and with competitive bidding, may keep some of that business here in the community."

Presenters also will cover tips, tools and advice on ensuring that your vendor information is complete and up to date. Participants also will have the opportunity to begin the process of becoming a vendor. The workshops are free and open to the public, but require an RSVP. Contact Matt Baird at mbaird@lschamber.com or 816.524.2424 with questions or to register.

The Lee’s Summit Chamber was incorporated in 1968 and is a member-supported organization of businesses dedicated to creating opportunities for business success through networking, advocacy, and business and professional development. For additional information, call the Chamber at 816-524-2424.
