Preparations Underway for Google Fiber to come to Lee’s Summit

Preparatory utility work began in mid-August, and installation of the Google Fiber network along major roadways should begin early this fall and in residential areas later this fall. A timeline for Google Fiber residential service availability is not yet available, but it is expected to start sometime in 2015.

Once the installation of the fiber network begins, residents can expect to see Google subcontractors working within the City’s right-of-way and utility easements. As is typical with underground utility work of this scale, digging could be required in your area. Residents should receive door-hangers from Google Fiber prior to construction activity beginning in their neighborhoods. Click the read more for FAQ's and important contact numbers.

New Flag at City Facilities

The City raised its newly designed flag for the first time on Thursday, June 12 during National Flag Week.

Beginning Monday November 2, 2009 Lee’s Summit residents may license their pets from the comfort of their own home.  Residents will need only the current rabies vaccination certificate and a credit card. To license a pet on-line go to: www.lspets.net and follow the prompts for the licensing procedure. After verification of the information entered during the licensing process, a pet license will be mailed directly to the home. All licenses purchased in November and December will be valid for all of 2010.

Residents may still license their pets in person, or by mail, by taking a copy of the pet’s current rabies vaccination certificate and proof of the pet’s sterilization (if applicable) to the Animal Control Facility at 1991 SE Hamblen Road or City Hall at 220 SE Green Street. By mail residents need to provide a copy of the pet’s current rabies vaccination certificate, complete with a return mailing address and phone number, along with a check or money order made payable to “City of Lee’s Summit” sent to:
