An Electronics Recycling event will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on May 7 in the east parking lot of the Lee’s Summit High School, 400 SE Blue Parkway. Some electronic products contain hazardous and toxic materials, making it important to properly dispose of electronic waste to avoid being placed in a landfill.
Items free to dispose include: CPUs, keyboards, mice, personal printers, small faxes/scanners, cell phones, pagers, hand-held games, and CD players. There is a small fee ($5- $25) for some items such as monitors and televisions. View a complete list of fees, items not accepted and payment information by visiting lslandfill.net or directly: http://cityofls.net/Environment/Environment-News/articleType/ArticleView/articleId/558/Electronics-Recycling-Event.aspx. Volunteers are still needed to help unload items from vehicles.
