City’s Departmental and Division Budget Presentations Set for April 24 and 25

Representatives from the City of Lee’s Summit’s departments and divisions will present their respective budgets beginning at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 24, and Thursday, April 25, in the Council Chambers of Lee’s Summit City Hall, 220 SE Green Street, Lee’s Summit. See the schedule below for the date and time of the presentations. Please be advised that the presentations may begin earlier or later than scheduled.

City Hall's Network Operational

Services Restored for Online Payment Systems, Telephones and LSTV

The City’s network communications systems for both voice and data were successfully returned to full operational status at 8 p.m. on Saturday, April 20, with the repair of the back-up generator damaged by last week’s thunderstorm. The power and technology systems for telephones at City Hall; online payment systems for Water Utilities bills, Municipal Court fines and fees, Lee’s Summit Parks & Recreation activities and rentals, and pet licensing; LSTV programming; WiFi Lee’s Summit at City facilities and in downtown; voice-mail and building inspection and permit scheduling are operational. The City’s Police and Fire Department emergency and dispatch services were not impacted on Saturday. The City appreciates the patience of residents and customers during the temporary outage. City Hall Network Outage Saturday

Online Payment Systems and LSTV among City Services Impacted

On Saturday, April 20, Lee’s Summit City Hall will experience temporary network outage to repair a back-up power generator damaged during the thunderstorm on Wednesday, April 17. The main power at City Hall will be shut down temporarily, beginning at 8 a.m., for approximately eight to ten hours. This outage will affect network communication systems, both voice and data, across most City departments. Lee’s Summit Police and Fire Department emergency and dispatch services will NOT be affected.

The following systems will be impacted during the outage:

  • Only City Hall telephone, both incoming and outgoing.
  • Voicemail for all City facilities
  • Online payment systems for Water Utilities bills, Municipal Court fines and fees, Lee’s Summit Parks & Recreation activities and rentals, and pet licensing

I-470 at Route 50 Work Begins April 22

A project to re-deck and repaint two I-470 bridges over Route 50 will begin April 22 (Monday) with lane closures to place concrete barrier for worksite protection. The work will require nighttime lane closures for several months.

I-470 Lanes and Ramps
Eastbound I-470 between View High Drive and Douglas Street will be reduced to two narrow through lanes from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. April 22-26 for barrier placement and shoulder reinforcement.

Meet local artist Claudia True at City Hall Thursday, April 18

The City of Lee’s Summit invites the community to meet local artist Claudia True and view her artwork April 18 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in City Hall, 220 SE Green St., Lee’s Summit, MO. Light hors d’oeuvres will be provided.
