Beginning on October 2, City Council meetings will be held on Tuesday evenings instead of Thursdays. All meetings will begin at 6 p.m.

Wanted: History Lovers to Participate in Walking Tour of Churches & Homes of Lee’s Summit-MAY 1

The Lee’s Summit Historic Preservation Commission and the Lee’s Summit Historical Society will present an event interpreting the history of downtown historic churches on May 1st at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 5th and Grand streets.

Today is the last day for Census information to be given via telephone

If you have not turned in your Census form, April 19, is the last day to provide answers over the telephone. Call 1-866-872-6868. Deaf and hard-of-hearing persons can call the TDD number: 1-866-783-2010. Remember Census takers will begin going door-to-door on May 1. For more information about the census, call the City’s Census Liaison Christina Alexander at (816) 969-1607 or go to the 2010census.gov Web site.

Lee’s Summit 360° Implementation Committee’s Quarterly Meeting will be April 20 Citizen Involvement Welcome

The Lee’s Summit 360⁰ Implementation Committee’s second quarterly meeting will be at 5:30 p.m. April 20 at the Gamber Center, 4 SE Independence Ave., Lee’s Summit. The 15-member Implementation Committee is charged with overseeing the process to bring to fruition the City’s newly adopted strategic plan, Lee’s Summit 360˚: Charting Tomorrow.

City Hosts Electronics Recycling Event May 1

Properly dispose of unused or end-of-life electronic equipment at the City of Lee’s Summit’s recycling event from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on May 1 at Lee’s Summit High School, located near the intersection of Highways 50 and 291.
