City's Crews Plowing & Treating Roadways

After approximately six to eight inches of snow blanketed Lee’s Summit late Saturday (March 23) night into Sunday (March 24) morning, City of Lee’s Summit crews are plowing and treating primary, secondary and residential roadways throughout the community.

 

City’s Crews Prepared for Saturday’s Winter Weather

With accumulating snow forecast to begin at approximately 9 p.m. on Saturday (March 23) and continue into Sunday morning (March 24), the City’s snow removal crews will begin work at 7 p.m. Saturday in order to begin plowing and treating once the snow begins to accumulate.

Crews Preparing for Snowfall on Thursday

With snow and the possibility of sleet on Thursday, March 21, the City of Lee’s Summit Public Works crews will mount equipment to trucks on Thursday in preparation for the latest winter storm expected in our area.

Snow and sleet accumulations are forecast from 1 to 3 inches. City crews will treat roadways and intersections on Thursday evening and overnight when temperatures are expected to fall and remain below freezing. Residents are reminded to drive and walk cautiously on pavements, especially when the temperatures fall below freezing.

 

Crews Pre-treating Roads in Preparation for Sunday Morning Snowfall

With rain and snow forecast for early in the morning on Sunday, March 17, the City of Lee’s Summit Public Works crews began pre-treating primary and secondary streets at 7 p.m. on Saturday, March 16.
