Keep Cool When It's Hot

Admission fees into Legacy Park, Gamber and Harris Park Community Centers will be reduced to half price on all days the National Weather Service issues Excessive Heat Warnings for the months June, July and August. During business hours, Mid-Continent Libraries are also good cooling centers. Call United Way 2-1-1 for assistance or information about public cooling centers.

City of Lee's Summit News

Text to 9-1-1 service is now available in the nine-county Kansas City metro area.

All 44 public safety answering points in the nine counties served by the Mid-America Regional Council can now accept texts. This includes Cass, Clay, Jackson, Platte and Ray counties in Missouri and Johnson, Leavenworth, Miami and Wyandotte counties in Kansas.

Charter Review Public Hearing, Feb. 16

The Charter Review Commission for the City of Lee’s Summit cordially invites the public to attend a public hearing on Tuesday, February 16, 2016, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in Howard Conference Room, 2nd Floor of City Hall, 220 SE Green Street.  All those in attendance will be afforded an opportunity to speak.  

City Hall Closed Monday, Feb. 15

Lee’s Summit City Hall, Lee’s Summit Municipal Court, and the Animal Control Facility will be closed Monday, Feb. 15 in observance of the Presidents’ Day holiday. The Lee’s Summit Parks & Recreation Department’s Main Office located inside City Hall will be closed Monday as well. The Gamber Community Center will be open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m., Legacy Park Community Center will be open from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. as usual with extended open swim hours from 1 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.; and Harris Park Community Center will be open from noon to 5 p.m. on the holiday.
