Beginning on October 2, City Council meetings will be held on Tuesday evenings instead of Thursdays. All meetings will begin at 6 p.m.

Weekend Winter Weather Update

With another round of winter weather expected in the metropolitan area this weekend, the City of Lee’s Summit has prepared equipment and scheduled staff to work.

According to the weather forecast, there is a slight chance of freezing rain and sleet on the afternoon of Saturday, March 1. A mix of two to four inches of snow and sleet is expected in the area overnight Saturday. The forecast for Sunday, March 2, is an additional two to four inches of snow with the snow ending on the morning of Monday, March 3.

Due to expected hazardous conditions, the Missouri Department of Transportation has issued a "no travel advisory" starting Saturday tonight and extending through Sunday.

City Crews Preparing for Winter Weather

With flurries and light snow forecast to begin this evening (Feb. 25) in the metropolitan area, the City of Lee’s Summit’s snow removal crews are preparing equipment for possible use overnight, on Wednesday, Feb.26, and later this week.


City Hall Closed Monday, Feb. 17

Lee’s Summit City Hall, Lee’s Summit Municipal Court, and the Animal Control Facility will be closed Monday, Feb. 17 in observance of the Presidents’ Day holiday. The Lee’s Summit Parks & Recreation Department’s Main Office located inside City Hall will be closed Monday as well. However, the Gamber Center, Legacy Park Community Center and Harris Park Community Center will have normal hours of operation.


Snow Removal Update: Afternoon of Feb. 10

City crews have plowed and treated 70% of residential streets today, Feb. 10. The Snow Desk, available at 969-1870, will remain open until 7 p.m. tonight.

City crews are plowing and treating residential streets throughout the City today, Feb. 10. Thus far, about 25% of residential streets are plowed and treated. Primary and secondary streets are plowed and treated in the City. The warmer temperatures forecast for Wednesday, Feb. 12, should help with the melting of snow on roadways.
