Date/Time Change for City Council Meetings

Beginning on October 2, City Council meetings will be held on Tuesday evenings instead of Thursdays. All meetings will begin at 6 p.m.

City Prepares for Snow Forecast on Christmas Eve

Based on the current weather forecast, the City of Lee’s Summit’s Public Works Department will begin pre-treating residential streets at 7 p.m. on Thursday, December 23, in preparation for snow forecast to begin in our area early on Christmas Eve.

City Preparing for Freezing Drizzle

The City of Lee’s Summit’s Public Works Department started pretreatment of roads earlier today in preparation for freezing drizzle expected to start in the metropolitan area this evening.
Residential streets have been pretreated with rock salt and the pretreatment of secondary streets has been underway since 2:30 p.m. today.

 

Jackson County Tax Payments Accepted at Lee's Summit City Hall

Jackson County citizens can pay their Jackson County Personal Property and Real Estate tax bills in the Treasury Office on the first floor of Lee’s Summit City Hall, 220 SE Green St. Tax bills are due by December 31, 2010 and payment is accepted by cash or check made payable to Jackson County Collector. The City benefits by receiving 1% of tax dollars collected for acting as an agent for Jackson County.

Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration January 17 & Week of Service Activities January 8-17

Dr. Martin Luther King’s message of service will be the focus of a week of activities scheduled for the 14th Annual Celebration in Lee’s Summit.  “Celebrating the Dream through Service” is the theme of communitywide activities that will begin on January 8 and conclude on January 17 with dancing, singing and inspirational messages.

City of Lee’s Summit’s Snow Plan

The City of Lee’s Summit has been preparing for another snow season.  Some of the changes to this year’s Snow Plan are increased levels of service in residential neighborhoods.
