City Hall among Facilities Closed for Thanksgiving Day Holiday

Lee’s Summit City Hall, Municipal Court, and the Main office of Lee’s Summit Parks & Recreation (LSPR) will be closed Thurs., Nov. 24, and Fri., Nov. 25, in observance of the Thanksgiving Day holiday. These facilities will re-open with regular hours of operation on Mon., Nov. 28.

Lee’s Summit Voters Approve a $14.5 Million No-Tax Increase Bond Initiative for Public Safety Improvements

The City of Lee’s Summit’s history of overwhelming support for ballot issues continued on Tuesday, November 8, with the approval of a $14.5 million no-tax increase bond election that will fund replacing the current Fire Station No. 3, replacing older air packs for fire personnel, upgrading the radio system for public safety and improving network capability at City-owned buildings and facilities. Lee’s Summit has not had a failed City-initiated no-tax increase ballot question since 1995.

City of Lee’s Summit Approves MOU with John Knox Village for land to locate a new Fire Station No. 3

At its Nov. 3 meeting, the Lee’s Summit City Council approved a Memorandum of Understanding by and between the City and John Knox Village for the terms and conditions associated with the potential transfer of property located on NW Pryor Road for use as a new Fire Station No. 3.

This is a 2.28-acre plot of undeveloped land on the west side of Pryor Road.
