Beginning on October 2, City Council meetings will be held on Tuesday evenings instead of Thursdays. All meetings will begin at 6 p.m.

City Hosts Blood Drive: Dec. 8 from 1 – 4 p.m. in front of City Hall

With the holidays upon us, now is the perfect opportunity to give one of the greatest gifts of all this year – the gift of life through blood donation.  Just visit www.esavealifenow.org and enter the code “cityleessummit” to sign-up for the City of Lee’s Summit Winter Blood Drive on Monday, Dec. 8, 2014 in front of Lee’s Summit City Hall, 220 SE Green Street.

City Hall among Facilities Closed for Thanksgiving Day Holiday

Lee’s Summit City Hall, Municipal Court, and the Main office of Lee’s Summit Parks & Recreation (LSPR) will be closed Thurs., Nov. 27, and Fri., Nov. 28, in observance of the Thanksgiving Day holiday.  These facilities will re-open with regular hours of operation on Mon., Dec. 1.

Developing Lee’s Summit Podcast Launches at City Hall

The first podcast to broadcast out of Lee’s Summit City Hall will launch Nov. 19.

Developing Lee’s Summit with John Beaudoin, the City’s Economic Development Communication Director, takes a weekly look at economic development, business and other issues as it relates to business growth and expansion.


Arnold Hall and Other Vacant City-owned Properties for Sale

At the Nov. 6, 2014 City Council meeting, Lee’s Summit Mayor Randy Rhoads announced that the Council declared four, unused, City-owned properties as “surplus” and available for sale. Those items of real estate are as follows:

City of Lee’s Summit Selects Stephen Marsh as Chief Technology Officer

The City of Lee’s Summit is proud to announce today, Nov. 7, 2014, the appointment of Stephen Marsh as Chief Technology Officer. Marsh’s selection comes after a nationwide search and competitive selection process involving a highly qualified group of more than 50 applicants. Mr. Marsh will join the City team on Monday, Nov. 24, 2014.

“I am very humbled and excited to be given the opportunity to work for the City I have lived in for 19 years. I look forward to leading a group of professionals dedicated to providing advanced solutions for the City and its residents,” said Marsh.
