Keep Cool When It's Hot

Admission fees into Legacy Park, Gamber and Harris Park Community Centers will be reduced to half price on all days the National Weather Service issues Excessive Heat Warnings for the months June, July and August. During business hours, Mid-Continent Libraries are also good cooling centers. Call United Way 2-1-1 for assistance or information about public cooling centers.

City Hall among Facilities Closed for Thanksgiving Day Holiday

Lee’s Summit City Hall, Municipal Court, and the Main office of Lee’s Summit Parks & Recreation (LSPR) will be closed Thursday, Nov. 28, and Friday, Nov. 29, in observance of the Thanksgiving Day holiday. These facilities will re-open with regular hours of operation on Monday, Dec. 2.

Holiday Light Strand Recycling

It’s almost time to begin decorating for the holidays. Some of you will discover that your holiday light strands no longer light up. Don’t throw away your old, broken or unwanted holiday light strands because from November 19, 2013 through January 25, 2014, you can recycle them at the City's North Recycling Center, 1951 NE Douglas Street.
