Admission fees into Legacy Park, Gamber and Harris Park Community Centers will be reduced to half price on all days the National Weather Service issues Excessive Heat Warnings for the months June, July and August. During business hours, Mid-Continent Libraries are also good cooling centers. Call United Way 2-1-1 for assistance or information about public cooling centers.

Lee’s Summit Named a Bronze Bicycle Friendly Community by the League of American Bicyclists

Across the U.S., bicycling is on the rise -- thanks in part to cities like Lee’s Summit taking steps to make riding safer and more comfortable for all residents. The League of American Bicyclists recently announced the latest round of Bicycle Friendly Communities (BFC) and Lee’s Summit has been named a Bronze BFC.
