Mayor Rhoads among officials elected to MARC Board of Directors

Mayor Rhoads will serve as secretary of the Mid-America Regional Council board as announced in a recently released MARC news release. This is a re-election to this post for Mayor Rhoads.

Allison Hoffman, a teacher at Westview Elementary School, has been recognized as the first recipient of the Community Heroes Program – a campaign recognizing individuals with outstanding character and achievement sponsored by 106.5 The Wolf and the City of Lee’s Summit.

Lee’s Summit Water Utilities Employees Recognized at Mayor’s Character Breakfast

Three Lee’s Summit Water Utilities employees were recognized at the Jan. 26, Mayor’s Character Breakfast as Champions of Character for Perseverance in locating a toddler's hearing aid that had accidentally been dropped down a storm drain.

City Prepares for Approaching Ice Storm

As the ice storm approaches, city officials are urging residents and business owners to be ready for icy roads and the possibility of power outages over the weekend. 

The city, along with other regional and state agencies are monitoring the storm and preparing for what it may bring. City crews are currently pre-treating the streets and will continue to treat the streets once the ice storm begins. The city will monitor its impact of the storm and take additional action if needed.

Artist Doug Bennett Paints Live at City Hall on January 19

Local artist Doug Bennett will be painting live in the lobby of City Hall, 220 SE Green St., Lee’s Summit on January 19 from 5:30 - 7 p.m!

See his artwork on display in City Hall now until mid-April and enjoy light hors d’oeuvres.

Wine sampling is also available, compliments of 3rd Street Social.
