Date/Time Change for City Council Meetings

Beginning on October 2, City Council meetings will be held on Tuesday evenings instead of Thursdays. All meetings will begin at 6 p.m.

Final Day to Take Items to City’s Drop-Off Recycling Centers is Feb. 6

During its Jan. 14 meeting, the Lee’s Summit City Council approved a contract with Heartland Environmental Services (HES), LLC, to take over landfill operations at the City’s Resource Recovery Park (RRP) on March 1, 2016. The City will continue landfill operations until that date; however, the City’s two drop-off recycling centers will close and the final day to take items to those facilities is Saturday, Feb. 6, 2016.

City’s Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration: January 18 in the Pavilion at John Knox Village

Celebrate the life, legacy and teachings of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. at the City of Lee’s Summit’s annual, community-wide celebration on Mon., Jan. 18, 2016 in The Pavilion at John Knox Village, 520 NW Murray Road, Lee’s Summit. The pre-show will begin at 5:30 p.m. and the program will begin at 6 p.m.
