Lee’s Summit’s Newest Monument Sign Unveiled at Chipman, U.S. 50

Residents and visitors to Lee’s Summit have a new sign welcoming them to town at Chipman Road and U.S. 50.

The City’s newest monument sign has been erected on the frontage of Green Lantern Car Wash near Summit Fair Shopping Center, 950 NW Chipman Road.

District 4 Open Forum Thursday, January 29

City of Lee’s Summit Councilmembers Bob Johnson and Dave Mosby invite District 4 residents to visit with them during an Open Forum on Thursday, January 29 in the Shenendoah Room of the Gamber Center, 4 SE Independence Ave.  Join the councilmembers anytime between 7 – 8:30 p.m.

This is an opportunity to meet district residents and your councilmembers, and talk about city-wide services, projects and district issues. Come share your ideas!

City Facility Closings in Observance of Dr. King Day Holiday

Lee’s Summit City Hall, Lee’s Summit Municipal Court, and Parks & Recreation’s Main Office in City Hall will be closed on Monday, Jan. 19, 2015 in observance of the Dr. King Day holiday.

Economic Incentive Policy Introduced to City Council

City of Lee’s Summit staff initiated a new Economic Development Vision and Incentive Policy to the City Council at the Jan. 15 work session meeting.

Based on a directive from the Community and Economic Development Committee and echoed by the full Council, City staff introduced its incentive strategy based on a vision statement approved by the Council.

Local artist Robert Klausing is taking a quarter-century of passion for art out of the classroom and into City Hall.

Klausing, a 25-year art teacher in the Lee’s Summit R-7 School District, will be the featured artist Thursday, January 15 from 5:30-7 p.m. in the lobby of City Hall, 220 SE Green St., Lee’s Summit. Enjoy light hors d’oeuvres as the you enjoy his art. Wine sampling is also available compliments of Rebecca’s Grille.
